Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, we had friends over for a Thanksgiving feast.  For the feast we had turkey, sweet potatoes, green beans, bread rolls and corn pudding.  For desert we had pie, cookies and sweet nuts.  My dad got the computer so the guys could watch a football game.  I had a blast.

A Soap Story

The same person who told the story about finding the gold items told another true but weird story and I would like to share it with you.
Once the man who told this story was worried that his daughter was not washing her hands after she went potty.  So he once spied on her to see if she washed her hands after she went.  He saw her put soap in her hands and thought he could go help his wife, but something in his brain said he should keep watching.  So he watched some more.  Then he saw something weird.  His daughter had the soap in her hand and dumped it in to the sink.  He said his daughter probibly liked it so she did it some more.  The soap was probably 9 inches before she used it and 2 to 3 inches after she used it.  She used a lot of soap.  Then he said that he told her to STOP and she probably thought it was God because she could not see her dad because her dad was looking thru a crack (I think he was joking).  That is the whole story.

A True Story

Today at school I herd a story and I want to share it with you!
About a month ago, this man from England had a metal detector in a field (in which he didn't think he would find anything).  He went over the field with his detector and it, suddenly, went  BEEP!  The man then pulled the item out of the ground and it was a real, pure gold sword handle (the Anglo-Saxons put it there)!  The man looked around and no one was there, so the man put the sword handle in his pocket and searched some more.  Again, there was another BEEP!  It was a real, pure gold belt buckle!  So the man searched some more and fond a thousand more gold items.  Then, he buried them back into the field and called the museum people about purchasing these gold items.  Later, the owner of the field was mowing the lawn and bumped one of the hidden treasures.  The museum then purchased the treasures from the man.  The owner of the field and the man who found the stuff first decided to split the money.  The man that told this story said if you had ten ferraris and then you sold them to get the field then you sold the treasures you could buy the ten ferraris plus one thousand more ferraris and that is how much the gold things would cost.  That is a true story!

Church

Tomorrow my church is cancled.  So we are going to a Russian church that we went to at first (I had to ask first).  I cant wait to see my friends again!!!  What is funny is that my pastor and his wife are going to the same church as we are going to.  One girl that goes to that church is American.  So we both talk together in English fluently.  I think she speaks fluent Russian also, but I speak just a little Russian.  So we can't talk in Russian anyway.  I hardly ever see my friend who lived in America because my family picked another church, but tomorrow I get to see her again!!!

    After School Activities!!!

Today we just started after school activities ( we do a special thing like a club or art or ballet after school)!!! I picked sign language and  kid's club ( which might not happen because there is not a parent to lead it yet ). My whole class is doing sign language except for one person and she is in ballet. She and Melissa are the only two people in ballet. I think there are nine people in sign language. It was fun!!! I got two tic tac's for spelling my first name and my last name in sign language. Next semester, I plan to do sign language and knitting.

    My new blogger friend!

My header was created with a special background that we found. Kelly creates these actual items! Aren't they cute?!! Thanks Kelly for letting us borrow it for our header photo!! Click on her pillow and visit her blog! She has a shop too if you love the items!!

    IKEA

On Thursday I had a day off of school. So my family and I went to IKEA. We went ice skating. Matthew just skates with dad, but he is doing really well. Mark is the fastest skater and really well, but he falls down about every 20 seconds ( I counted the seconds ). Melissa is the next fastest at skating and almost can skate on one leg. My dad thinks I can skate way better than I think I can skate. When I feel like falling, I go hold on to the railings.

Then, we went to McDonald's for lunch. The food was really yummy. After we ate, we went to go get some ice cream. There is sorbet at the mall that I could have ( I'm allergic to dairy ). The ice cream was also yummy. Then, we got on a bus to go home.

    Elema

Yesterday, my family and I went out of the country. We made a fire and roasted some strawberry marshmallows ( we bought them in America ) and we roasted some hot dogs ( but the hot dogs we bought in Russia). We were there for about 3 hours ( and I mean outside for about 3 hours).

I wanted to look for some frogs there, but I was to busy eating that I didn't have time. At Elema there is a tire swing. The tire swing hangs straight down to the ground for only one person to swing on. Melissa and I swing and push all the time on the tire swing.

Melissa, Mark and I have a secret hiding spot at Elema. When we would go up to our secret hiding spot, we would have to cross a bridge that was over a little stream of water by ourselves. When we did that it really felt like a real secret hiding place, but yesterday, mom would not let us go past the river that we would have to go on to get to our secret hiding place. So we could not go there yesterday. I hope I get to go too my secret hiding place again.

    The Wii

My family got a new game: Mario Kart Wii, which I hardly ever play it, but my two brother's play it a lot. I'm on my blog more than Mario Kart Wii . My brothers always ask me and Melissa if we are done with our homework because they can't play it until we are done. I hope they get bored of Mario Kart Wii so they don't play it as much. I like all the other wii games better than Mario Kart Wii.

    Day Lights Savings Time

Day lights savings time is this weekend in Russia! It's going to feel like I'm sleeping in for school, at least that is what my pastor's wife said, and I like to sleep in, but there's one problem. When it is time to go to bed I get too tired because the time has changed. That just means we get to watch more TV, but you know what that means, I GET MORE SLEEPY!!! That is what I just did last night I watched a movie and I got tired. DAY LIGHTS SAVINGS TIME!!!

    Amazing! Cactus Cuties

    WOW!

    My Apartment

The apartment building is nine stories high. It is a four room apartment. It is a really nice place. Usually Russian bathrooms have a toilet in one room and a bathtub and sink in another room, but ours have them both in one room. The girls share a room and the boys share a room. The most exiting part is in the boys room. They have some monkey bars and we play on them a lot. We've been in our apartment for about 2 months. We love our apartment.

    Me

I am a daughter of God and live in Russia. I have five students in my class at school. I'm glad to be in school. I have to wake up at 7:15 am to leave by 8am each day. My favorite colors are pink and blue. I'm still learning how to type and when I learn I will get music on my blog. I enjoy my life here. It's hard not seeing all my friends and family in America, but I'm glad to have friends over in Russia. I've lived in Russia for about one year.

I teach Matthew science on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and Matthew really likes it. I also teach Matthew art, bible, and we play some games. I just went to a party yesterday. This week, I have Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off of school.

    A Mouse Trapped

My friend said she had a mouse in her house so they stuck a piece of bread inside of the cup and propped it up with a five ruble coin. The mouse tried to get the piece of bread but the five ruble coin trapped the mouse. My mom asked what her dad did with the mouse and she said her dad put the mouse in a bag and slammed it on the wall and threw it in the trash. Here is a picture of me and my friend.

    School

School is going really great! I've made a lot of friends. What I thought was funny was my teacher has the same hair as Melissa and her name is Karen. Its kind of weird that k-12 grade has lockers. My favorite subjects are science and art. I did not know what P.E.was until i was in school. My favorite day in school is Friday. I think that's it about school.
